Royal Botanic Gardens
St Vincent's Royal Botanic Gardens, founded in 1765, are the oldest in the western hemisphere. It was here that Captain Bligh first brought the breadfruit trees intended to provide food for the slaves. Descendants of the original trees continue to thrive here today. The 30-acre gardens are home to an extensive array of rare and exotic plants and trees and in the aviary you can see rare St Vincent parrots

 
 

The Leeward Trail
A journey along St Vincent's west coast provides an opportunity to see unusual pre-columbian petroglyphs - ancient rock carvings - at Buccament Bay, Layou and Barrouallie. The architecture of the fishing village of Barrouallie reflects a strong French influence. The Barrouallie Police Station, dating back to the 1700's, is one of the oldest buildings in the country.

 

 
 


The Windward Trail

The highway east winds through the Mesopotamia Valley, the island's bread basket, and onto Montreal Gardens, a former plantation now transformed into magnificent landscaped gardens. At Black Point walk through a 300 foot tunnel, carved out of solid rock by slave labour.
 
 


Hiking

Participate in extensive full or half day hiking trips through an ecological Rain Forest.

Sail or Power
Cruise along the beautiful leeward coast to the Falls of Baleine, where you will experience a waterfall and spiritual grotto, more beautiful than any movie set. Accessible only by sea.

 

Take a day trip to Bequia to visit the Turtle sanctuary.

Climb an active Volcano, St. Vincent's own 4000 ft. "La Soufriere".
